For many of the tourists who travel to Malalcahuello it is a benefit to know from west to east, at the moment of entering the town there is a milestone that shows a stone with a saint in the middle of the road, this vestige tells us a fact that demonstrates a legend: that of Piedra Santa (Petricura).
It had been many years, and the excesses of fun and cane that were in the area, made that meeting point become a place of vice.
The paraphernalia began when a group of alcohol-drenched youths stayed in the home of an Araucanian man, a family man, they dedicated themselves to partying, pretending to conquer, under the influence of alcohol, Millaray, the eldest daughter of the owner of the boarding house. .
One night, they wanted to outrage 17-year-old Millaray. Despite the help she asked for, everything was in vain... the evil guests seriously injured the family. The young woman was scared of so much violence so she runs away from the house.
Millaray ran without a certain direction, despite the fact that her malefactors followed her almost clumsily from the degrees of alcohol they had taken from her, but this led to a chase in the middle of Pehuencura, the superior of the ford. Who in order to defend Millaray shook like a mass of stone and frost and like a volcano in the middle of erupting, and then all of a sudden... The scoundrels would have died!
From there pure silence, the stone was formed into a saint.
And that is when a rather terrible story that had at least one happy ending has been transformed into a utopian legend that shows us the degree of evil that, despite the courage of both, would be part of a hope: that there are saviors in nature in our meeting stone.
